Dark Energy (2021)

Dated 2021, "Dark Energy" is an artwork by NASA. Historical background, 2021: Digital files are increasingly a normal part of how new work is made, shared, and collected. Painting, drawing, photography, installation, and digital tools now sit side by side, and artists work within a global network of exhibitions and online audiences. Background on Vintage Posters: Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and later modernist design each left a recognisable poster style. Colour lithography in the 1890s turned the illustrated poster into a major art form, and cities such as Paris and Prague became centres of poster design. It is listed in the Vintage Posters collection. The image is in portrait orientation.

Everything for "Dark Energy" arrives digitally: Digital JPEG + PDF files, 300 DPI. Once payment is confirmed, an email brings the download link, and from there you decide how to print it, whether at home, at a print shop, or through an online service. A portrait format suits narrow wall spaces, hallways, and the area beside a door or window. Matching the frame to the image proportions avoids cropping. Screens and printers render colour differently, so a small test print is a sensible way to check tones before committing to a large size. Matte and fine-art papers reduce glare in bright rooms, while glossy papers give stronger contrast and deeper blacks. Hang the print away from direct sunlight, which over the years can fade any printed colour.

American, 1958
